Midas 2000 two storey advanced modular building

Rawley Plant had decided to move their business to a new location having outgrown their existing facilities in Laindon, Essex. They located a new sitenearby in Basildon, Essex, but the site lacked adequate administration facilities. There were two options available, build a traditional constructed administration building or purchase a bespoke modular building. The first option would have delayed their move and been more expensive than the faster, more cost effective modular building option available.

Malcolm Hodges the managing director of Rawley then instigated a procurement process where he selected a number of modular building suppliers to tender for this project. After some protracted negotiations, Modular Building Systems were selected to supply and install their Midas 2000 modular building.

Whilst the manufacturing process of the modular building was underway offsite, the groundwork’s contractor started constructing the foundations and services required to install this building. When the foundations where completed the modules where delivered to site and installed onto the foundations utilising a telescopic crane. The installation process took less than eight hours to complete, thus minimising the disruption to a single day.

The internal fit out took a further three weeks to complete, with the installation of a suspended ceiling, air conditioning, data & IT cabling, floor coverings and a bespoke driver lobby.

From initial enquiry through to handover of building, the whole process took less than six months to complete. Our client had a bespoke quality product, compliant with Building Regulations with an expected life span of over forty years.
